Do Ayurvedic De-addiction Killer Powders Really Work?
Everyone watching TV in India must have come across advertisements
seen in Television channels that promote a powder will remove all (?)
addictions include alcohol, Gutkha, smoking and other addictions. Let’s explore
the possibilities and the role of Alternative medicines, Allopathic and Quackery
medicines scientifically. You might have heard words like 'De-addiction powder', No addiction, 'addiction killer' etc. This article will do a sort of 'Addiction killer review' and other brands too. Now a days the 'addiction killer price' also is skyrocketing.
What is an addiction?
First we discuss on what is an addiction. The past definition
of addiction is what we commonly discuss now-a-days. This pertains only to psychotropic
substances that are harmful to body, mind and spirit. It happens due to they
cross the blood-brain barrier and altering the brain’s chemical balance temporarily.
The 'substances abused' mainly are alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, prescribed and
illegally available drugs.
Now the definition modified and added other substances
ostensibly harmless. People with addiction are powerless over what they do, use
and consume and become dependent on a particular thing, habit of substance abuse,
gambling, sexual behaviors etc.
'Habit Vs Addiction'
Habit:
People having habit of their choice also have the
choice and ability to stop when they really want to or have to. No physical and
psychological element is an issue.
Addiction:
Since physical and mental components are affected and
conditions are involved, they are not able to stop without help. Simply saying,
powerless over their addiction component even if they really desiring to stop
or reduce and eventually leads to unmanageability of the whole life.

Treatment:
Any addiction requires a combination of professional
psychiatric, physical and some sort of spiritual (not indicates religious)
interventions and systematic 'behavior modification ' therapy or training
sessions. The main aspect lies in the will of the addict who accepts the
addiction. Denial of their condition is the nature of addicts. Most
importantly, the follow up should be initially provided by professionals and
lifetime follow up is needed in the form of self-discipline or advisably constantly
in touch with a group of successfully recovering addicts like Alcoholic
Anonymous, Narcotic Anonymous, nicotine anonymous.

Scientifically it has been announced as a disease by WHO and proven that medicines alone can never cure/help an addict. Actually there is no cure for any addiction but management is very much possible with the help of combination of facilities. Different addiction requires different methods of intervention. I could establish 'Alcohol Rehab' is the most successful, because I have visited several very good 'Alcohol Rehab centers' includes TTK in Chennai which is considered as the best in Asia.
Now think whether a magic powder differently named by different
marketers can help/cure all addiction! However we have seen quacks claiming
cure for AIDS, Diabetes, sexual problems and many other diseases seemingly
dreadful. We too believed them and made them ultra-rich with our hard earned
money but nothing happened.
Why do they choose these diseases exclusively? They are clever and aware of marketing strategies and making money. In Allopathic also medicines are there for more than 30 years and used for treatment, but they are advertised like this. SO, BEWARE OF THESE ADVERTISEMENTS ON 'ADDICTION KILLER POWDERS'!

ReplyDeleteThere are medicines that are quite helpful for addiction like Naltrexone in allopathy but are not widely prescribed by doctors as Pharmacy companies don't like them due to very less profit margins. Similarly there are medicines in Aurveda too. It doesn't give 100% guarantee but will help, same as Naltrexone, but without side affects. There are definitely quacks trying to make money, but that doesn't mean every thing is fake.
ReplyDeleteThis problem cannot be handled with any allopathy or alternative medicines alone because It is a problem of psychological, behavioural and change in our metabolism and some unknown genetic factors also and should be handled with counselling, behaviour therapy and motivation, group therapy etc. I never recognise people call themselves as alternative medicine practitioners and all of them are called quacks. Some may have some medicines useful. That's it. Limited proper system available for alternative medicines here except few medical colleges and qualified alternative medicine practitioners don't get patients. Until it is initiated by government, quacks will make crores from innocents and poor.
